About The Artist

Hello and welcome, I am an artist living in Western Southland, and Queenstown, in Te Wai Pounamu o Aotearoa, the South Island of New Zealand.

I currently divide my time between my studio at our Southland farm, and my Queenstown home. In winter you will likely find me skiing on our local hills, and in summer, walking somewhere with my dog, - taking photos of blue shadows in the mountains. My favourite weather is sunshine just after a storm, when the clouds are still hovering over the mountains, and sunlight breaks through to light up the valley with intense colour.

The approach to my art practice is emotive and expressive. I am strongly influenced by the natural surroundings I live and work in, and respond to this with paint and colour. I work mainly in oils, in abstract, semi abstract and expressive styles.
